Mortgage Protection - Aviva

(01) 845 0049

Aviva Mortgage Protection does not offer a conversion option and the policies flexibility is more resticted than some other insurer offerings, but it remains fairly comprehensive in terms of its overall added features. The first month also comes free as does Accidental Death Benefit prior to policy start date.

Mortgage Protection

Automatic Features & Benefits

Extended to your whole family including your parents, this policy includes a free 24/7 counseling helpline with referral to a local counselor for up to six free sessions were needed.

Your insured life cover amount, up to a maximum of €150,000 is payable if a life proposed dies from bodily injury as a result of an accident while Aviva is processing your fully completed application form, and within the first 3 months from application receipt.

Aviva will pay out the life cover amount if you’re diagnosed with an advanced or rapidly progressing incurable illness. Your life expectancy must be less than 12 months in the opinions of both an attending consultant and their Chief Medical Officer.

This option allows you to increase the level of your current cover by up to €40,000, and/or to increase your policy’s term without providing medical evidence, up until you turn 70.

This means there is no new application to complete, just written confirmation that you are borrowing the extra money.

Aviva is the only provider on the Irish market that allows you to extend your policy term in this way, however, you may not wish to extend the term and €40,000 on the reduced cover amount is very restricted compared to some other providers.

Aviva covers each of your children for €5,000 life cover for as long as you are covered. All children between the ages of 30 days and 21 are covered or up to age 25 if in full-time education.
If your Mortgage Protection Cover lapses, you may reinstate it at any time within the following 6 months. This reinstatement will be subject to you providing us with satisfactory evidence of your ongoing good health – and paying all the outstanding premiums, plus any late payment charge that may apply at that time. This is unique to Aviva.
No matter your chosen policy start date, which can be any date between the 1st and 28th of any month, no direct debit will be taken in the first month of coverage.
